Sitting up all night chatting, in his room at the Tay Hotel in Dundee.
A grand and beautiful building in the Belle Époque style which was at that time being used as a hostel.
Opening a bottle of red,at one in the morning, with no intention of going to sleep, and hearing ‘Regret’,while he talked and smoked and drank,and relayed to me again how his life had gone so disastrously wrong.
