This summer I was driving down a lane in the Scottish Highlands, listening to a favourite piece of piano music.
The Wanderer Fantasy by Schubert. It is a work full of yearning.
The same piece is one I turned to in July 2020 when my father was in hospital.
I drove around the lanes – of Leicestershire this time – and took comfort from the music back then.
There is no sign of me settling down anywhere at this time in my life so I thought I would be ‘The Wanderer’.
